APN ARM Launches New Additions to Daily Newspapers

APN ARM now has exciting new content and sections that run across our 12 daily newspapers.

At the end of 2012, we undertook a large segmentation study to find out what our audience really want from our newspapers. What we found out was they wanted more content, more variety, more entertainment, more things to make their life better, and above all, local news and community stories.

From this research, we have delivered 12 new and/or improved sections. These 12 sections are mandated to run across our 12 daily titles on specific days, so our readers know what to expect each and every day. This is also great news for our advertisers as they can position themselves in targeted environments and achieve higher engagement. The new sections and formats are:

MondayWeb World, Gadgets and Gaming
Tuesday - Explore (Travel), Family Matters, News in Education (NiE) and Better Business
WednesdayHealthy Living and Easy Eating
ThursdaySmarter Shopping and Commercial Property
Friday - Getting Out (Local adventure section)
SaturdayThe Weekend lift-out including local cover story, Explore, Easy Eating, Screen Life, Relax and In My Garden.

And every day, there is the "Daily Musts" section, including the TV guide, Shares (except Monday), Stars, Cartoons, Puzzles and Games, National/World News and Sports

These initiatives have resulted in strong performances for APN ARM brands. The latest March 2013 ABC audit reveals that we have successfully increased market share within Australia’s regional daily newspaper market, while excelling as Australia’s number one publisher of regional daily newspapers. Furthermore, our online brands continue to register impressive growth – since the relaunch of our websites in October 2012 our Unique Browsers (UBs) have grown by a significant 31% year-on-year^.
