International Media Awards recognises APN Australian Regional Media as leading Australian publisher

Last night in front of a packed house in New York’s Times Square, APN Australian Regional Media was awarded five top honours by the International News Media Association (INMA), making them the standout Australian publisher.

First Place:

Best Idea to Encourage Print Readership or Engagement - APN ARM “The Gympie Times”

Best Idea to Grow Single-Copy Sales - APN ARM “Dinosaurs Collector Cards”

Second Place:

Best Use of Social Media - APN ARM, Sunshine Coast Daily, “Connecting the Coast”

Best Idea to Grow Single-Copy Sales - APN ARM “Free Seeds Giveaway”

Third Place:

Best Idea to Grow Advertising Sales to Retain Advertising Clients - APN ARM “Bundles”

Judged by an international jury of 33 executives from 15 countries representing the worlds of media and marketing, there were 578 entries from 190 market leading companies in 38 countries.

In a competition amongst media companies that celebrates initiatives to grow audience, revenue and brand, APN Australian Regional Media was awarded a place in all of the five categories it was named a finalist in back in March 2015.

APN Australian Regional Media CEO Neil Monaghan said: “It’s an honour to receive these awards on behalf of our dedicated teams in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

“These initiatives are a testament to the investment and commitment we have to enrich our audiences and to connect with and serve our local communities.”
